On the morning of September 21st the god Hypnos was tried behind closed doors in a military tribunal and stabbed to death for committing perceived crimes against humanity and the Gods.
It’s a day that will forever be entrenched in the memory of mortals who watched the ruthless leader of dream announce his retirement before being summarily executed.
President Shepherd Uqbad McMahon has declared September 21st national Hypnos died day in honor of Hypnos major contributions to humanity.
But many citizens are starting to frame Hypnos as an oppressor, a callous, even cruel producer of nightmares and creative horror, and of course the bludgeon of the gods as a peddler of enforced visions, prophecy and omens, whether humanity wanted them or not.
Is Hypnos death a tragedy or, pun intended, a godsend? A day to remember as a tragedy? Or a liberation?
As Hypnos victim’s begin to come forward it’s becoming clear that Hypnos was never the God we thought he was.
